Rockaway NJ DWI Accident LawyersRockaway NJ police officers recently arrested a Dover New Jersey man who allegedly caused a drunk driving accident and injured two passengers in the vehicle.

According to Rockaway officials, the DWI accident happened just before 10:00 p.m. The Rockaway Police Department got a call about a rollover accident, with injuries, on West Main Street. When Rockaway NJ patrol cops arrived at the scene of the car crash, they saw that the suspect was pinned inside the vehicle and a female passenger was unable to get out of the backseat. Police officers also saw a second female passenger who had gotten out of the vehicle and was sitting on the sidewalk.

Rockaway Borough Fire Department firefighters soon arrived at the accident site and proceeded to free the driver, a 40-year-old resident of Dover, from the car. Meanwhile, Rockaway Township NJ emergency medical responders provided medical treatment to the injured passengers. One passenger, a 45-year-old female who lives in Budd Lake, NJ, suffered minor injuries in the car accident, while the other passenger sustained a head wound in the car accident. Both passengers were later transported to St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville New Jersey for further treatment and evaluation.

While emergency medical responders got the suspect out of the car, they reportedly detected the odor of alcohol on his breath.

The suspect was initially taken to Morristown Medical Center for medical treatment. He was later placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and assault by auto. Law enforcement also cited the suspect for multiple traffic offenses.
