Morris County NJ DWI LawyersA Washington Township NJ committeeman has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) in connection with an alleged DWI crash.

The DWI accident allegedly happened on Friday night. According to authorities, the suspect was driving his 2013 Audi on West Mill Road in Washington Township when the vehicle suddenly left the roadway and slammed into a utility pole.

Other motorists happened to see the aftermath of the car crash and dialed 911 to notify local law enforcement. The Washington Township Police Department sent patrol officers and emergency medical crews to the scene of the auto accident.

The suspect received medical treatment from members of the Long Valley First Aid Squad before being taken to Hackettstown Medical Center.

The suspect, a 71-year-old man, resides in Washington Township NJ and also serves on the Washington Township committee. He faces very severe penalties after being cited for multiple traffic offenses, including Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), reckless driving, and failing to keep right.

The suspect has reportedly served on the Washington Township committee since 2010, when he replaced a committee member who had resigned. The suspect is up for reelection this November.
