Riverdale NJ Criminal Defense AttorneysA Riverdale New Jersey teenager who goes to Pompton Lakes High School in Passaic County NJ was arrested after allegedly threatening the school online.

According to law enforcement officials, the suspect used SnapChat to share a photograph. The photograph reportedly features the suspect holding a toy gun and has a caption that reads “do not go to school tomorrow.” It is believed that the threat was directed against his high school.

When school officials became aware of the threat, they contacted local law enforcement. Pompton Lakes detectives investigated the threat and eventually placed the suspect under arrest.

The suspect resides in Riverdale, which is in Morris County. However, he attends school in Pompton Lakes. Riverdale NJ residents typically go to Riverdale Public School from kindergarten to eighth grade. From ninth grade on, Riverdale residents attend Pompton Lakes High School.

The suspect may be subject to criminal charges for making terroristic threats. At this time, it’s not clear whether the suspect will be charged as a juvenile or as an adult. If the suspect is charged with a juvenile offense, he would probably face less severe penalties.

After being arrested and processed, the suspect was released from police custody and handed over to the custody of his parents.
