A New York man was placed under arrest after allegedly stabbing a co-worker at a Chinese restaurant located in Pequannock, NJ.
The stabbing incident occurred a short time before 9:30 p.m. on Saturday at Golden China Restaurant, a popular restaurant on the Newark-Pompton Turnpike in Pequannock, New Jersey.
The suspect is an employee at the Chinese restaurant and he allegedly got into an argument with another employee. The verbal altercation eventually became violent, with the suspect reportedly grabbing a kitchen knife and using it to stab the victim.
Pequannock NJ police sent officers to the restaurant, where they found the victim suffering from stab wounds to his arm and his abdomen. The victim was then taken via ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson. Doctors at the Paterson NJ hospital treated the victim and later listed him in stable condition.
Meanwhile, Pequannock NJ detectives investigated the violent altercation and eventually arrested the suspect.
The suspect is a 23-year-old resident of Brooklyn, NY. He faces several criminal charges, including aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect secured his release from police custody on his own recognizance.
