Mount Olive NJ Assault ChargesMount Olive, NJ police placed a man under arrest after he allegedly assaulted another person in an apartment complex parking lot.

Police said that the attacker and the victim were involved in a heated dispute about a parking lot space at the Eagle Rock apartment complex. When the argument escalated to a full-blown fight, police were sent to the scene.

According to police, officers found the 56-year-old victim injured and lying on the ground in the parking lot. The man was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and later released.

Meanwhile, the 54-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Aggravated assault in New Jersey is governed by N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1(b). If the charges against the suspect are not dismissed or downgraded to simple assault, he will be required to appear in Morris County Superior Court, where he will face a potential felony conviction.
