A Hopatcong New Jersey man needed medical treatment after allegedly driving drunk and causing a DWI accident in Roxbury, NJ.
The drunk driving accident reportedly occurred just after 10:30 p.m. on Route 80 in Roxbury, New Jersey. The suspect, a 46-year-old Hopatcong NJ resident, was driving a 2017 Toyota Tacoma and traveling west on the highway when lost control of the car around mile marker 32.4. The motor vehicle left the roadway and struck the guardrail on the highway’s right shoulder.
Fortunately, there were no other cars involved in the motor vehicle accident.
New Jersey State Police troopers went to the scene of the accident and found the victim behind the wheel and suffering from serious injuries. The injured motorist was transported to Morristown Medical Center in Morristown NJ, where doctors treated him.
The suspect was later charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).
Moreover, a passenger in the vehicle was charged with heroin possession because NJ State Police allegedly found him in possession of a small amount of heroin.
