Madison NJ Heroin Possession ChargesMadison, NJ police arrested a Whippany, NJ man after allegedly finding heroin in the man’s possession following a car crash.

Police officers were called to the scene of an accident near Rosedale Avenue and Lewis Drive. At the scene, officers saw the aftermath of a single-car rollover crash.

The investigation of the accident scene allegedly led officers to hypodermic needles and suspected heroin folds. According to police, the needles and heroin were in plain view.

Officers eventually concluded that the driver of the vehicle was under the influence of heroin.

The driver was charged with a host of offenses, including driving while under the influence (DUI), heroin possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) in a motor vehicle, careless driving, and failure to maintain lane.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect was released to a family member. He will be required to appear at a later court date.
