I recently represented a client charged with shoplifting in Rockaway Township Municipal Court. After the State failed to offer any downgrade of the shoplifting charge to either a municipal ordinance or disorderly conduct, I filed a motion to have the case heard before the Assignment Judge at the Morris County Superior Court in Morristown, New Jersey.
