A man who allegedly committed arson in Roxbury, NJ has been captured by police in Mississippi.
The suspect is a 31-year-old man with listed addresses in Alabama, Nevada, and Utah. According to law enforcement officials, the suspect burglarized an auto dealership, the Bloom Auto Group, in July 2017 and later set fire to a car.
The suspect reportedly went to the Bloom Auto Group on Route 46 in Roxbury, New Jersey, and gained access to the building by smashing an air conditioner in a window. The suspect then allegedly stole money from a cash box and a car from the lot.
Mount Olive cops later discovered an abandoned car that was torched. Authorities believe that the suspect set fire to the motor vehicle in an attempt to cover his track.
Police officers later arrested the suspect in Mississippi and extradited him to New Jersey.
The suspect has been charged with a number of crimes, including arson, criminal mischief, burglary, and theft.
