A Denville, NJ man was placed under arrest and charged with sexually assaulting a young child that he was supposed to be babysitting.

The suspect is a 19-year-old who resides in Denville in Morris County, New Jersey. According to Morris County prosecutors, the suspect committed sex offenses on several occasions while he was babysitting the underage victim.

The suspect has been accused of sexually assaulting the child in 2016. At the time of the alleged assaults, the suspect was 18 years old and the victim was just four years old.

The Denville Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office conducted a joint investigation into the allegations and eventually brought charges against the suspect.

The suspect faces criminal charges for aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. If he is ultimately convicted of the sex crimes, he could spend a very long time behind bars in New Jersey State Prison.
