Dover NJ Sexual Assault AttorneyDover, NJ police arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl numerous times over the course of six years.

According to authorities, the 20-year-old suspect began abusing the victim in 2007. Court documents indicate that at the time, the victim was just eight years old and the suspect was under the age of 18. It is also alleged that the suspect molested the victim several years later.

Prosecutors said that the illegal conduct occurred at the victim’s residence.

The alleged abuse came to light after an investigator with the Department of Child Protection and Permanency reported the allegations to police. Court documents state that the victim told an unidentified witness about the abuse, prompting the initial investigation.

The victim later told a Morris County Prosecutor’s Office detective that the suspect had inappropriately touched intimate parts of her body while she was under his care.

Prosecutors said that the suspect admitted to detectives that he had engaged in sexual acts with the victim.

The suspect has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact, and endangering the welfare of a child.

The suspect is currently being held at the Morris County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail. He has also been ordered to have no contact with minors if and when he is released on bail.
