A man from East Hanover New Jersey is going to jail after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl at a local pizzeria.
The suspect allegedly committed the sexual offense on December 24, 2015. According to Morris County NJ law enforcement, the suspect inappropriately touched the juvenile victim at Giuletta & Romeo Pizzeria and Ristorante, a pizzeria in East Hanover, New Jersey. The suspect reportedly committed an act of sexual penetration with the underage female.
After law enforcement learned about the allegations, Morris County authorities conducted an investigation into the suspect and eventually arrested him.
The suspect, a 32-year-old male from East Hanover NJ, worked as a manager at the restaurant. His family reportedly owns the pizzeria.
The suspect was initially charged with several sex crimes, including sexual assault, criminal sexual contact, and child endangerment.
Earlier this year, the suspect reached a plea deal with Morris County prosecutors and entered a guilty plea on the charges of criminal sexual contact. In exchange for the suspect’s guilty plea, Morris County NJ prosecutors agreed to drop the other sex crime charges.
Now the suspect has been sentenced to one year in the Morris County Jail. Additionally, the suspect will be subject to four years of probation after his release from jail.
Moreover, the suspect is going to be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law.
