A Flanders NJ man is headed to jail after he pleaded guilty to illegally videotaping sexual encounters.
The suspect, a 29-year-old man from the Flanders area of Mount Olive, was placed under arrest last year after Mount Olive NJ detectives investigated allegations that he secretly filmed sexual encounters with six women.
According to law enforcement, the suspect used his iPhone to record the women while he had sex with them at his Flanders NJ apartment. The women reportedly had no idea that they were being filmed in extremely vulnerable situations.
Mount Olive detectives reportedly discovered evidence of the suspect’s crimes on his personal computer.
The suspect could have gone to trial in Morris County Superior Court, but he reached a plea agreement with Morris County prosecutors and pleaded guilty to six counts of invasion of privacy.
A judge later approved the plea deal and sentenced to suspect to one year in jail and four years of probation.
The suspect will also have to undergo mental health counseling for an undetermined amount of time after he completed his jail sentence.
