Police in Morris Township, NJ are searching for a man accused of attempting to grope a teenage girl and then shoving the young girl’s mother to the pavement.
According to officials, the incident happened on Martin Luther King Avenue near Pollos Pucular in Morris Township. The man allegedly asked the teenage girl if she would let him walk her home. When she declined the man’s offer, he reportedly tried to “touch and grab” the girl.
The girl’s mother unsurprisingly tried to intervene and shield her daughter from the man. The suspect allegedly responded by knocking the woman onto the ground. The suspect then allegedly fled the area by running south toward Morristown.
Police released a description of the suspect: he is described as a black male in his late 20s or early 30s with a height of approximately 5 feet 9 inches. On the day of the incident, he wore blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and sneakers.
If the suspect is eventually caught he could be charged with criminal sexual contact and aggravated assault.
Morris Township police are asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Morris County CrimeStoppers at 973-COP-CALL.
