Mendham NJ High School Teacher Accused of Sex with StudentA high school teacher in Mendham NJ was suspended following her arrest for allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old student.

The 32-year-old suspect is reportedly a teacher at West Morris Mendham High School, a public school in Mendham, New Jersey. The suspect, who lives in Mount Olive, is listed on the high school’s website as a faculty member who taught English courses.

The investigation into the suspect’s alleged actions began after police received a report that she had a sexual relationship with a student at the high school. The investigation included the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes / Child Endangerment Unit and the Mendham Borough Police Department.

According to investigators, the sexual relationship occurred in May and June of 2014.

The suspect was eventually placed under arrest. She has been charged with second degree official misconduct, a charge which carries a potential sentence of 5–10 years in NJ State Prison.

Sometime after the suspect was arrested, a Mendham Municipal Court judge set her bail at $75,000. The suspect was later released from custody after posting bail.

The investigation into the suspect’s alleged misconduct is active and ongoing. While the investigation is pending, the suspect has been suspended from West Morris Mendham High School.
