A Mount Olive NJ man was recently arrested and charged with witness tampering in a sex crimes case.
According to Morris County prosecutors, the 28-year-old suspect filmed a number of women with whom he was having sexual relations. The suspect allegedly filmed these sexual encounters without the women’s knowledge.
Authorities investigated the suspect and later obtained enough evidence to charge him with invasion of privacy and witness tampering.
At this time, law enforcement is investigating the sexual offense allegations. As a result, additional charges could be pending.
Sometime after the suspect was charged with invasion of privacy, an 18-year-old female came forward and alleged that she had engaged in an act of sexual contact with the suspect when she was just 17 years of age. Investigators looked into the allegation and reportedly found that the suspect had also filmed that sexual encounter without the suspect’s knowledge.
The suspect was subsequently charged with multiple counts of endangering the welfare of a child, as well as manufacturing child pornography.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility. He was being held at the jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Police are actively investigating the suspect on all of these charges. Anyone who has information about the suspect or the sex crime allegations should contact investigators with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit at 973-285-6200 or the Mount Olive Police Department at 973-691-0850.
