Parsippany New Jersey Sexual Assault SuspectA Lake Hiawatha New Jersey man was found guilty of sexually assaulting an underage girl over the course of a nine-year period in Mount Olive, NJ.

The 58-year-old suspect, who currently owns a music production and engineering studio in the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany-Troy Hills, was convicted at the conclusion of a two-week trial in Morris County Superior Court in Morristown, NJ.

The sexual abuse occurred while the victim was between the ages of 7 and 16.

During the trial, Morris County NJ prosecutors presented evidence and testimony that the suspect sexually assaulted the victim on multiple occasions in Mount Olive between 1986 and 1995. According to prosecutors in the case, the suspect knew the victim because he was an acquaintance of her family.

The victim testified in court that the suspect sexually abused her in three different locations. The suspect’s defense attorney attempted to counter the victim’s testimony by suggesting that she was “vengeful” and that she was lying about the suspect because she is now upset with the state of her life.

At the conclusion of the two-week trial, a Morris County jury rendered a guilty verdict on first degree aggravated sexual assault charges and second degree sexual assault charges.

After the verdict was handed down, the superior court judge revoked the suspect’s $300,000 bail. The suspect will have to remain at the Morris County Jail in Morristown until formal sentencing in September.

When the suspect returns to Morris County Superior Court for sentencing, he faces up to 20 years in NJ State Prison on the first degree aggravated sexual assault charges.
