Police in East Hanover, NJ recently arrested a man who allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl at a local pizzeria.
The sex offense was allegedly committed on Christmas Eve. According to East Hanover police, the 32-year-old suspect committed the sexual assault against the 15-year-old victim at Giuletta & Romeo Pizzeria and Ristorante, an eatery located at 49 Eagle Rock Avenue in East Hanover, NJ.
Morris County prosecutors indicated that the suspect “engaged in acts of sexual contact and penetration” with the teen victim. Beyond that, the sexual acts were reportedly committed against the victim’s will; as a result, this is not a statutory rape case.
The suspect, who resides in East Hanover, New Jersey, was arrested and charged with several sex offenses, including sexual assault, criminal sexual contact, and endangering the welfare of a child.
After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility in Morristown, New Jersey. He was being held at the correctional facility on a $60,000 bail amount. Moreover, while the charges are pending, the suspect will be prohibited from making contact with any minors.
