Police recently arrested a Dover NJ man who allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman.
According to authorities, the suspect approached a woman while she walked on a Dover NJ street and forced her to enter a house. The suspect then allegedly physically attacked the victim and sexually assaulted her.
The suspect also allegedly forced the victim to take him to an ATM, where she withdrew cash and handed it over. After allegedly committing the robbery, the suspect fled the area on foot.
Dover police and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit investigated the violent crime and soon identified the suspect as the likely culprit. Two days later, police officers located and apprehended the suspect.
The suspect, a 23-year-old Dover resident, faces multiple criminal charges, including kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, and terroristic threats.
If the suspect is ultimately convicted of aggravated sexual assault, he could potentially be sentenced to as many as 20 years in NJ State Prison.
After being placed under arrest and processed, the suspect was ordered held at the Morris County Correctional Facility in Morristown, New Jersey. He was being held at the jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
