A former music teacher from Randolph NJ recently pleaded guilty to criminal charges of distributing child pornography from his residence.
According to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect has admitted to committing the very serious sex crime. He was arrested earlier this year amid allegations that he downloaded illicit sexual images of juveniles on his home computer. The suspect also allegedly traded the illegal images to other people online.
The suspect, a 30-year-old Randolph New Jersey resident, used to be a music teacher in the Bloomfield school system. Shortly after being arrested and charged with the sexual offense, he was suspended without pay from his teaching job.
In addition to allegedly downloading child pornography from his home, the suspect also reportedly viewed the illicit sexual images from a Bloomfield school computer. However, the suspect’s plea agreement with Morris County prosecutors does not include an admission of guilt on that offense.
The suspect is expected to face harsh penalties when he appears in Morris County Superior Court, located in Morristown NJ, at a later date for a formal sentencing hearing. His plea deal with prosecutors calls for him to be sentenced to a term of incarceration of three years in NJ State Prison. Beyond that, the suspect will have to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law after he is released from prison.
