Morris County NJ Sexual Assault ChargesThe Morris County Prosecutor’s Office announced the indictment of a Rockaway Borough NJ man charged with sexually assaulting three underage boys.

The suspect allegedly committed the very serious sex crimes last year in Rockaway Township, NJ. On August 28, 2015, the suspect reportedly abused two minors in a restroom at the Rockaway Townsquare mall located on Interstate-80 in Rockaway Township, New Jersey. On September 10, 2015, the suspect reportedly threatened another boy in the bathroom of the Target Store in Rockaway Township, NJ.

The Rockaway Township Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit investigated the suspect after the second incident and eventually determined that he should be criminally charged.

The suspect, a 35-year-old Rockaway Borough resident, was placed under arrest and charged with numerous crimes, including sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, attempted kidnapping, attempted luring, terroristic threats, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Now the suspect could be headed to trial after a Morris County grand jury indicted him on the criminal charges.

If the suspect is ultimately convicted of sexual assault, he could face severe penalties. Sexual assault is a second degree felony, with a conviction potentially resulting in a sentence of 5-10 years in New Jersey State Prison.
