A former employee at a Babies ‘R’ Us located in East Hanover NJ is likely to be sentenced to significant prison time after he was recently convicted of robbing two store workers.
The suspect is a 24-year-old East Orange man. He allegedly used a handgun to hold up the two victims inside the Route 10 store on July 19, 2014. According to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect waited until the store was closed and then forced the victims at gunpoint to take $5,500 from a store safe.
The East Hanover Police Department and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office investigated the theft and eventually arrested the suspect.
The suspect faced numerous criminal charges, including armed robbery, burglary, kidnapping, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
A Morris County Superior Court jury later convicted the suspect on most of the charges, with the one exception being the kidnapping charge.
