Hanover Township NJ police are searching for the person who robbed a local bank.
The suspect reportedly committed the theft offense just after 3:30 p.m. at the Chase Bank located along Route 10 in Hanover, New Jersey. The suspect entered the bank branch, walked up to a bank teller, and demanded that the worker hand over money.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect brandished a handgun during the bank robbery.
After getting cash from the bank employee, the suspect exited the building and fled the scene.
The Hanover Township Police Department dispatched officers to the scene, but the suspect was already gone when they arrived.
Multiple law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the robbery, including the Hanover Police Department, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
If police can determine the suspect’s identity, he would likely be subject to criminal charges for armed robbery and weapons offenses.
