Police in Lincoln Park are investigating three recent burglaries that occurred at homes in the borough.
According to officials, three burglaries were committed after midnight. The suspect allegedly entered two houses on Algonquin Avenue and broke into another house located on Alleghany Path in Lincoln Park, NJ.
After using windows to gain access to the Algonquin Avenue residences, the suspect reportedly took various items and then fled the area on foot.
The suspect also allegedly stole valuables after breaking into the Alleghany Path home. A resident at the house reportedly saw the suspect get inside.
At the times of the burglaries, all three residences were occupied.
The Lincoln Park Police Department was notified of the thefts and dispatched officers to the scenes of all three burglaries. However, police were unable to find the suspect.
Witnesses at the third residence gave investigators a detailed description of the suspect. He was described as a white male in his 20s. He reportedly stands 5-feet-10, has blonde hair, and was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt while committing the thefts
If Lincoln Park investigators are able to identify and apprehend the suspect, he would likely face criminal charges for burglary and theft of movable property. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2, burglary is usually classified as a third degree crime. A conviction on third degree burglary charges could lead to a sentence of 3-5 years in New Jersey State Prison.
