Mount Olive Police Seek Information on Air Conditioning BurglaryMount Olive police are requesting assistance from the public after someone broke into a home and stole several air conditioning units.

On Tuesday, an officer responded to a report of a burglary at a residence on Main Street. When the officer arrived on the scene, he learned that someone had entered the home through a back door. Once inside the home, the offender removed the air conditioning units and made off with them.

In New Jersey, burglary is governed by N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2. The statute prohibits a person from unlawfully entering premises with the intent to commit a criminal offense. Burglary is typically charged as a third degree felony. If caught and convicted, the offender in this case could be sentenced to up to five (5) years in New Jersey State Prison.
