Parsippany NJ Police Looking into Copper Wire TheftParsippany NJ police are investigating the theft of more than $1,000.00 worth of copper wire from a Verizon Wireless Tower in Parsippany, New Jersey.

According to police, the theft occurred sometime between September 23 and October 24. It is believed that someone took copper ground cables from the Verizon Wireless Tower on Route 10. Parsippany police have said that this was the second theft of copper wire reported over the last month.

According to police officers, there were no signs of forced entry at the scene.

Burglary in New Jersey is addressed by N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2. In accordance with the statute, burglary is typically charged as a third degree felony. In this case, if the suspect is caught, he or she could be charged with third degree burglary, with a conviction carrying a sentence of as many as five (5) years in state prison.
