Parsippany NJ police are looking for three suspects who allegedly committed a theft at a local Bed Bath & Beyond.
According to law enforcement, the thefts occurred shortly after 6:00 p.m. at a Bed Bath Beyond store on Route 46 in Parsippany, New Jersey. The Parsippany Police Department sent officers to the store after employees notified authorities of the alleged theft.
Two suspects, a black male and a black female, reportedly walked into the store and picked up multiple Roomba vacuum cleaners. The suspects then allegedly exited the store while a third suspect, a black male, held the doors open for them. The suspects then allegedly got into a car in the parking lot and drove off.
Parsippany New Jersey police are currently investigating the theft incident, but they have yet to determine the identities of the suspects.
If police are eventually able to identify and locate the suspects, the culprits would probably face criminal charges for shoplifting and theft of movable property. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:20-11, a person who unlawfully takes someone else’s property valued at more than $500 can be charged with a third degree crime. A conviction on third degree shoplifting charges could result in a sentence of 3-5 years in New Jersey State Prison.
The Parsippany Police Department Investigative Division is asking for the public’s help with the investigation. Anyone with information about the suspects or the theft incident should get in touch with investigators at 973-263-4311.
