Paterson, NJ police arrested two individuals believed to have robbed a man at a Paterson massage parlor.
24-year-old Mark Perrone and 36-year-old Dana Arevalo have been accused of robbing a 44-year-old Morris County, NJ man of his cash and credit cards.
According to police, the victim responded to a Craigslist advertisement placed by the suspects. When the victim showed up at a house on Katz Avenue expecting to receive a massage, he was robbed by two people.
Perrone and Arevalo have been charged with robbery and criminal restraint. Peronne has also been charged with a weapons offense.
In New Jersey, robbery is governed under N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1. As set forth by the statute, robbery is typically classified as a second degree felony. In this case, if Perrone and Arevalo are convicted of second degree robbery, they could each be sentenced to as many as 10 years in New Jersey State Prison.
Paterson police have said that they believe there might be other victims who are afraid to come forward due to embarrassment.
