East Hanover Armed Robbery SuspectEast Hanover New Jersey police are looking for a man accused of robbing a local jewelry store.

According to officials, the suspect entered Venicia Diamonds Jewelry sometime around noon. The store is located on Ridgedale Avenue in East Hanover, NJ.

Once the suspect was inside the store, he approached an employee and allegedly stole cash, as well as other items. Afterwards, the suspect exited the store and left the scene. Store employees then contacted local police.

The East Hanover Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office are working together to actively investigate the robbery.

Law enforcement recently released a description of the robbery suspect. He is described as a 30-year-old white male standing roughly 5-feet-11-inches tall and with an athletic build. At the time of the jewelry store robbery, he reportedly had a goatee.

If investigators are eventually able to identify the suspect, he would probably be subject to severe criminal penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1, robbery is typically classified as a second degree felony. A conviction for second degree robbery could result in a sentence of 5-10 years in New Jersey State Prison.
