Long Hill Township police are searching for a man who allegedly committed an armed robbery at a convenience store.
The suspect reportedly committed the theft offense just before 8:30 p.m. According to law enforcement, he entered the Country Farms convenience store on Division Avenue in the Millington area of Long Hill, approached the clerk, and aimed a handgun at him. The suspect allegedly threatened to harm the store employee unless he handed over money from the register.
After the suspect allegedly got an undisclosed amount of cash, he exited the building and fled the scene on foot.
The Long Hill Township Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit are conducting a joint investigation into the Long Hill convenience store robbery. In the hopes of spurring the investigation, police released a description of the suspect: he is 5-foot-9 and weighs approximately 175 pounds. Additionally, the suspect reportedly wore military-style clothing during the robbery.
If police can identify and arrest the suspect, he would probably face criminal charges for armed robbery and theft of movable property.
