Riverdale Walmart Shoplifting ArrestsPolice in Riverdale New Jersey recently arrested two men accused of shoplifting items from a local Walmart.

According to officials, the two suspects entered the Walmart store located on Route 23 in Riverdale, New Jersey. The suspects allegedly placed a number of store merchandise into a shopping card and then tried to leave the store without paying for the items.

Walmart’s loss prevention personnel allegedly saw the suspects attempt to conceal items. That’s when store employees called Riverdale police, which sent officers to the scene.

When the suspects tried to exit the Walmart, they were intercepted by security guards. At that point, one of the suspects allegedly tried to flee the scene, but he was apprehended by a Riverdale detective.

The stolen items reportedly had a value of more than $3,000. The items included several cases of 5 Hour Energy drinks, boxes of razor blades, shampoo, deodorant, and cell phones.

Both suspects were placed under arrest at the scene.

Police searched the suspects and allegedly found 30 hypodermic needles, as well as a glass pipe, in a backpack.

The suspects were charged with shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, one of the suspects faces charges for possession of a hypodermic needle.

After being arrested and processed, one suspect was released from custody with a pending court date. Meanwhile, the other suspect was taken to Morris County Correctional Facility in Morristown NJ because he was unable to post the $10,000 bail.
