Morris Plains Burglary AttorneysMorris Plains NJ police are investigating a recent series of car burglaries committed in a single day.

According to law enforcement, the suspects unlawfully entered several cars throughout Morris Plains and stole personal possessions from the vehicles. Most of the burglarized cars were parked on Greenwood Road, Lealand Road, and Wyndwood Road in Morris Plains, NJ.

The culprits reportedly committed the auto thefts after 1:00 a.m. The vehicle owners did not find out about the car break-ins until later that morning when they went to work for the day.

Morris Plains detectives investigated the car burglaries and suspect that the individual or individuals responsible for the break-ins may have been trying to find vehicle keys inside the cars.

On the official Facebook page of the Morris Plains Police Department, law enforcement officials published a post that provides information about the car burglaries and asks local residents to take precautions to prevent car break-ins in the future:

  • Lock your vehicle.
  • Raise all the windows in your vehicle.
  • Don’t leave valuable items inside your car.
  • Don’t leave your keys inside the motor vehicle.
  • Don’t leave your title or registration inside your vehicle.
  • Make sure the emergency brake is in use.
  • Park on a street with good lighting.
