Two Washington Township men will be going to prison after pleading guilty to armed robbery charges in Long Hill, NJ.
The suspects, a 52-year-old man and a 53-year-old man, are both residents of Washington Township in Warren County, New Jersey. They were placed under arrest after authorities identified them as the culprits in the robbery of the Country Farms convenience store located in the Millington part of Long Hill Township.
According to authorities, one of the suspects walked into the store while the other suspect remained outside in a getaway vehicle. The suspect inside the building allegedly threatened the clerk with a firearm.
After getting money from the register, the suspect ran outside and got into the getaway car.
Police eventually captured the suspects and connected them to the robbery. The suspects were charged with first degree armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and weapons offenses.
The suspects avoided trial by reaching a plea agreement with Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. When the suspects return to Morris County Superior Court in Morristown NJ later this year, they could be sentenced to 10 years in state prison.
