Morristown New Jersey Theft AttorneysMorris Plains NJ police arrested a Morristown woman who allegedly pickpocketed several people in stores across Morris County, New Jersey.

According to law enforcement, the 48-year-old suspect most recently stole a purse from a woman who was shopping at Kohl’s in Morris Plains, NJ. The suspect is believed to have gotten away with approximately $1,800 in cash taken from the victim’s purse.

The victim eventually located her purse on the floor between clothes racks. However, the purse had been emptied.

Authorities said that the suspect has committed comparable thefts throughout Morris County and Essex County. Similar theft-related incidents were previously reported in Montville, Morristown, Wharton, Millburn, and Livingston.

Most of these theft incidents involved customers who were distracted while shopping. The victims lost their purses and wallets after leaving them unattended.

Investigators with the Morris Plains Police Department identified the suspect after looking at video surveillance footage from the Kohl’s store in Morris Plains, NJ.

The suspect was later placed under arrest without incident. She has been charged with theft of movable property.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect was transported to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey. She is being held at the Bergen County correctional facility because she allegedly violated her parole.

The suspect will be required to appear in Morris County Superior Court in Morristown at a later date to address the recent theft charges.
