Pequannock New Jersey police recently arrested a man who allegedly eluded law enforcement on a motorcycle.
The suspect, a 23-year-old man from Denville, NJ, was riding his motorcycle on Route 23 in Pequannock around 5:00 p.m. when he allegedly committed a traffic violation.
A Pequannock patrol cop attempted to stop the suspect’s bike, but the suspect reportedly ignored the officer and continued driving.
The patrol cop followed the suspect on Route 23 north and Route 287 north, but the motorcyclist ultimately got away.
Pequannock NJ police worked with police departments in Riverdale and Rockaway Borough to investigate and identify the suspect. Police eventually captured the suspect.
The suspect has been charged with eluding police and cited for several traffic offenses, including reckless driving, careless driving, improper passing, failure to stop, making an unsafe lane change, operating a motorcycle without the proper endorsement, failure to have insurance, displaying a fictitious license plate, and misuse of a license plate.
When Pequannock police officers arrested the suspect, he allegedly had heroin and a syringe. As a result, the suspect also faces very serious criminal charges for possession of heroin.
After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect was moved to the Morris County Correctional Facility in Morristown, NJ.
