Police are investigating a multiple-vehicle accident in Parsippany that caused one death.
The fatal car crash occurred just after 6:00 a.m., during the morning rush hour, on Route 80 in Parsippany, New Jersey. According to authorities, three vehicles collided while heading westbound on the roadway. As the cars moved past mile-marker 41.2, they collided.
The force of impact caused one of the vehicles, a Jeep, to overturn. The driver of the Jeep reportedly died at the scene of the accident.
New Jersey State Police investigated the crash and needed to close down two lanes on the highway for several hours. Those lanes reopened around 11:00 a.m.
The investigation into the fatal accident is ongoing. At this time, law enforcement has not arrested anyone or issued traffic citations in connection with the crash.
