Mount Olive NJ Traffic Ticket LawyersPolice recently apprehended a Budd Lake resident who allegedly crashed into a young boy in Mount Olive NJ and subsequently left the scene of the auto accident.

The motor vehicle accident went down just before 12:30 p.m. in the Budd Lake section of Mount Olive, NJ. The victim, an 11-year-old boy, was on his bicycle and traveling along Saunders Lane in Budd Lake when the suspect reportedly tried to pass him on the road. The SUV allegedly crashed into the victim, sending him flying from the bike. The suspect then allegedly hit the gas and continued driving away from the scene of the accident.

Mount Olive cops soon arrived at the scene and saw the victim lying on the road, roughly 75 feet away from his bicycle.

The victim was briefly treated at the scene before being rushed by helicopter to the Morristown Medical Center, where doctors provided further medical treatment for “significant injuries” sustained in the crash. The victim was later listed in stable condition.

Mount Olive police, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office conducted an investigation into the accident and talked to witnesses. One individual who saw the auto accident told police that the suspect was driving a black SUV. Police later found the SUV and arrested the suspect.

The suspect, a 20-year-old male from Budd Lake NJ, was cited for numerous traffic offenses, including leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in serious bodily injury.

After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect secured his release from police custody on his own recognizance.
