Two men and two women were apprehended Saturday after allegedly attempting to steal flat screen TVs from Walmart in Mount Olive, New Jersey. Officers were alerted to a shopliftin in progress at the Walmart on Route 206 in Mount Olive. An officer in the area recognized a vehicle that had been described in multiple shoplifting incidents in the area in Mount Olive and Mansfield Township. The officer pulled the vehicle over and found two flat screen TVs in the bed of the truck. Heroin and drug paraphernalia were also found in the vehicle. The defendants were charged with third-degree conspiracy, third-degree shoplifting, possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic needle, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Several defendants were held at the Morris County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail. One was released on her own recognizance.

The most serious charges are third degree offenses in this case. A third degree crime has a punishment of three (3) to five (5) years in prison if convicted. However, if the defendants have no prior record, a probationary sentence is likely.
