Madison police released photos Friday of robbery suspects, a man and woman, who allegedly tried to rob a money transfer service on Cook Avenue last month. According to reports, a woman entered Giro express first around noon on February 21 and engaged in conversation with a store employee. She then left and a moment later a man showed up brandishing a silver handgun and demanding money. When the store clerk told him there wasn’t any money, he came behind the counter, looked around and then fled the store. The woman is described as Hispanic, 5 foot 5, wearing a black coat, black hat and pink gloves. The man, also Hispanic, had dark pants, dark shoes, a dark hooded sweatshirt under a tan jacket, and dark gloves on. Police believe the couple was working together.
Anyone with information regarding the attempted robbery is asked to contact the Madison Police Department at 973-593-3012.
