A man showed up at the Chester Municipal Court high on heroin and was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of heroin after a search of his vehicle revealed large quantities of heroin along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia. After the man arrived in court clearly under the influence of something, police officers questioned him and he had trouble staying awake. He then admitted that he had used heroin earlier in the day. Police used K-9 dogs and obtained a search warrant for his vehicle which led to the seizure of 236 packets of heroin. The man was arrested and charged with possession of heroin along with other drug related offenses and was held in the Morris County Jail on $35,000 bail and $15,000 bail.  Police would not release the defendant’s name so as not to compromise an ongoing investigation.
